NICO VAN DER STAM
The Dutch photographer Nico van der Stam is an autodidact.
He was born in 1925 in Rotterdam.
His first exhibition was in the "Cinq Mouches" gallery in Amsterdam in 1959. Many others followed. The critics were enthusiastic and as a result many photo works were commissioned.
He achieved fame in the 60's by covering jazz concerts as a jazz fan photographer he was. Many pop and rock stars were immortalized on the sensitive plate as well.
This time he offers us a look into the Jordaan, a popular district in the old part of the city of Amsterdam.
