Grzegorz Rogala is geboren in 1956. Hij is afgestudeerd aan de PWSF, TV en T in Lódz in 1981. Sinds 1998 leidt Rogala Studio Rogala, toegespitst op de productie en nabewerking van reclamefilms. Zijn artistieke interesses zijn ongewoon groot. Rogala is een actieve fotograaf en grafisch kunstenaar. Bovendien maakt hij interactieve installaties. De kunstenaar woont en werkt in Warschau. “… Ik heb een hele reeks foto’s gecreerd, waarin alle personen die voorkomen in de foto’s niet bestaan: ze zijn ontstaan door het opleggen 40, 80, of meer dan 100 beelden van verschillende mensen op elkaar. De huidige serie is een natuurlijke ontwikkeling van de vorige reeks. Hier ontpopt “Tijd” zich als een zichtbaar en dynamisch element in het beeld, vandaar de naam “Moving Pictures” … ” Grzegorz Rogala reflecteert over de aard van tijd. De ‘lenticulaire’ fotografie-techniek toepassend (waarbij het beeld verandert naargelang de hoek van de kijker), realiseert hij de indruk van ruimte (een soort 3D effect) en beweging, om zo zijn fotografie dichter bij films en animaties te brengen. Hij is gefascineerd door specifieke, minimalistisch transferentie-belang, waarin het eigenlijke beeld, vóór onze eigen ogen, de gebeurtenissen en emoties uit een verloren verleden ontsluit. Since 1998 Rogala runs Studio Rogala, focusing on production and postproduction of advertising films. His artistic interests are unusually extensive. Rogala is an active photographer and graphic artist. Furthermore, he creates interactive installations. The artist lives and works in Warsaw.”… I created a whole series of photographs, in which all the individuals that appear in the photographs do not exist: they were created by imposing 40, 80, or more than 100 pictures of different people on top of each other. The current work is a natural development from the previous series. Here, time reveals itself as a visible and dynamic element in the picture – hence the name Moving Pictures… ”
Grzegorz Rogala reflects on the nature of time. Applying lenticular photography (whereby the image changes according to the angle of the viewer), he achieves the impression of space (a 3D type of effect) and movement, bringing it closer to film and animation. He is fascinated with specific, minimalist transfer importance, in which the actual picture reveals, before our very eyes, the events and emotions from a lost past.
